What was tested
Forty women aged 30–65, with Fitzpatrick skin types I–VI, used an HA serum twice daily alongside sunscreen for six weeks. Investigators assessed appearance and measured hydration with a corneometer.
What changed
Hydration readings rose 134% immediately after application and 55% at week six compared with baseline. These percentages describe instrument readings, not a percentage improvement in how young someone looks.
What it cannot settle
No randomised vehicle-control group is described in the abstract. Sunscreen was part of the routine, and improvement from baseline cannot isolate HA from the rest of the formula. PCA SKIN cites matching six-week, 40-participant figures on its product page. That connection is useful context; it is not independent confirmation that every current bottle matches the study formula.
